Statement of Philosophy of Coaching
North Attleboro High School coaches recognize that interscholastic athletics is an integral part of the education process for both participants and spectators. North Attleboro Public Schools seeks to provide this educational experience to those athletically inclined students who possess skill and competitive spirit.
Interscholastic athletics is a voluntary program designed to accommodate the highly motivated student athlete. It is a program designed to provide participation for as many students as possible with the intent of fostering the physical, social, mental, and emotional well-being of each individual. The Athletic Department encourages multiple sport participation, and it is expected that all coaches should support this philosophy.
Student-athletes should be reminded continually that participation in interscholastic athletics is a privilege, one that carries a great deal of responsibility to one’s self and others, to the team, the school and the community.
It is expected that through athletic participation and competition the objectives of self-discipline, perseverance and sportsmanship will be achieved. As a coach at North Attleboro High School you should constantly reinforce these objectives. The ultimate goal of interscholastic athletics at NAHS is to enhance the growth and development of the individual within a team concept.
